Hi, I reckon 5:28 might be emp.Result instead of emp itself, I tried emp and it always went in the if block whether the email was duplicated or not, thanks for sharing!

Hey Everyone its if(emp.Result != null). Thats why a valid create is returning the 400 error

At 6:32 for some reason Response only showed "Bad Request" and not the "Employee email already in use." VS 2019 v.16.6.2, Postman v7.26.0.

Why not setup a method in your repository to accept a predicate and pass a lambda expression to get specific data? EG: x => x.Email == email or x.EmployeeId == id . I'm a big fan of your videos for years now. I learn so much from you. Keep up the good work.

Is there a way to have all the validation rules apply together? That way the user would get all the problems reported, rather than getting past the Model errors, only to find the unique email requirement?

Hi Venkat! Sorry for a super noob question! But if we are using functions directly from EmployeeRepository.cs into our controller class, then why do we need its injection class that is IEmployeeRepository? I am sure i am unable to see the bigger picture, please let me know, if you can help!

when I try to create new Employee with Email Already in use gives An unhandled exception, duo to BadRequest in response if email exists in the database.
