Honestly, i understand, as a fellow latin american, growing up in poverty is no joke. Now he's secured his family's financial security for generations

People forget that when these footballers were kids they were motivated by the money and the fame. So why deny that bag when it comes knocking.

football for us is a hobby and entertainment but for Jhon Duran its his job and a business at the end of the day. Go get your money Jhon. Hes only 20 he'll be back in Europe someday.

why are people acting like player choosing
money over passion hasn't been the normal for 20 years.

None of us can blame him bc we all would’ve done the same, I mean, 1000% salary increase? id be playing in North Korea for that amount

Almost $1.5 million a month. He can play there for 4-5 years, securing a generational wealth while learning a thing or two from Ronaldo and Sane, and still a mid sized want to swoop on him after he is back to the big leagues.

I can see the likes of Bournemouth, Sporting, Frankfurt or Dortmund will want him anyway

The suadi's changed their tactics. They started investing in the potential rising stars rather than mostly peak players.

This reminds me of Micah Richard's story, how he moved to villa despite getting wage cut and city offered 100k a week (back then it was huge). cause he wanted playtime. He regretted it big time.

Nobody knows the future, not all young star player will consistently shine. Duran just want to secure his future by taking the bag and I respect that.

What a lot of people don't understand is that going to Europe in the first place was often considered to be "chasing money" in South America anyway. Saudi doesn't present that much of a difference, they just have more money.

As a Chelsea fan, it's still as gut wrenching to me now, as it was the day Oscar left for China in his early 20's. But a man's gotta feed his family

I loved him so much as a random football fan supporting Red Star Belgrade, but then
he made his way to the middle east.
It's always the players I love, who just ruined their careers 😭
Hope he will at least do decent in Saudi and have a good life ❤

I'll honestly not blame him or anyone though for making the most out of his talents. But such decisions tend to move future decisions in favour of money, not passion, leading to the island of relevancy leaving Europe to the highest bidder😢

Duran made a smart choice. Getting the big bag at 21. He can earn generational wealth for 3-4 years and then come back to Europe, he will still be 25-26 years of age at his peak.

I love how people giving him grief when the money he will be getting is life changing for next few generations. Fair play to him. Everyone would have done the same thing
