President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says to U.S. lawmakers that Ukraine “will never surrender” during a joint session of Congress in Washington.

President Joe Biden has welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House on his first known visit outside of Ukraine since Russia launched its invasion of the country in February.

Biden and Zelenskyy, who arrived earlier Wednesday, are to hold talks at the White House before the Ukrainian leader addresses a joint meeting of Congress in the evening.

A senior administration official told reporters the talks between the two leaders would include “an in-depth strategic discussion on the way ahead on the battlefield,” what equipment and training the U.S. and other allies could provide, as well as economic, energy and humanitarian aid.

“President Biden will have the opportunity to reinforce that this support is not just about what we have done before, but what we will do today and what we will continue to do for as long as it takes,” the official said.

While Zelenskyy is not known to have left Ukraine before, he has made visits outside of the capital, Kyiv, including going Tuesday to the eastern city of Bakhmut where his forces have been engaged in heavy fighting.

We afghans said the exact same thing to USSR army and the afghan government in the 80s and the 90s when Ukraine was not Evan a country but never thought that actually America was clearing the road blocks and setting path for invading my country themselves. We were too naive to understand the CIA agents going to Pakistan-afghan border gathering the Mujaheddins (afghan refugees fighting against afghan communist government) saying "we are with you and we understand your cause. Allah is with you". What a mistake that was after millions of our people were lost and displaced and the whole country turned into ashes. The mujaheddins also said "we never surrender" but once you realise that you, your people and your country is just a football in the game of politics, you will surrender no doubt but then it is too late...

I can reassure you the Ukrainian blood is no different to Afghan blood to vampire (empire). Unfortunately zolenski doesn't have the ability to comprehend how many thousands of his country men and women have died and 100s of thousands were wounded in the last 10 months. Any conscious man with a bit of brain would stop and think and say enough is enough "Hello world I am not asking for more war machineries, I want you (America I said America because we all know this war ignited by Americas foreign policy since 2007) to talk about cease fire and peace because our people from child to elderly are suffering every minute and as a responsible man i want this suffering to stop immediately".
