Curves can be anticipated and smoked. Knuckle ball if acting good will mess up the best hitters. Both pitches work best with wind blowing out. All in all they ARE thrown underhanded so you will still have fun.

your curve ball will break best when you spin the ball on the 2 seam axis so that the big horseshoe makes a disk area as it flies. Orient that disk so it is 45 degrees to either side and it will break all the way to the plate. How you hold the ball means literally nothing. The only important thing is spin axis and the spin trueness (how well it maintains its seam in the spin).

I used to throw a spin on it just like bowling. Lots of one hoppers back to the mound made for an easy out.

thank you for the tip - a few years ago after being a utility player for all my days we needed a pitcher so i said what the hell - talk about the hot spot [ that's when you find out how many folk's want to knock your head off with a ball ] - anyhow after my first season as the target aka pitcher just by chance i noticed i had a natural curve and when added some knuckle to it [ the lefties stood and shook there heads ] i was striking seven and eight batters a game and then as dumb luck would have it i tried a slider knuckle for the right hander's and got the "K's" on them as well but i ain't showing anybody - i pitch to the umpire Not the Batter - the batter is an Existential Circumstance that must be overcome

Toss a barely legal arc or short pitch. Maybe toss a quick pitch. That’s it, good hitters can mash anything.

Do you want to know why he would not show you what he was doing?? Because throwing under handed and super slow like that does nothing to the ball. This was just a ploy to get people to watch the videos. Everyone who seen this video clicked on it because they have never even seen or thought that throwing a curveball was possible. That is the only reason anyone clicked on this and they were proven right when he did not even show it. This is what they call a troll, plus he looks very similar to a troll anyway.
