Windows 11 2023 Update (23H2) - new features and changes

This update is much smaller than the Moment 4 update - it mostly serves the purpose of being something for OEMs to use to ship with new Windows devices, and to reset the support clock. With the enablement package installed, you'll see new Teams Chat changes - the Microsoft Teams app pinned to the taskbar instead of a button that you can't move. Some new experiences are also available for the app. In the Start menu's All apps list, system components will now be labeled as such.

There's also a new System Components settings page - although set to begin rolling out alongside 23H2, it will be available for both 23H2 and 22H2. Windows Ink Anywhere will also begin shipping alongside 23H2, but will be for both 23H2 and 22H2 - this initial rollout will be gradual and only support US English, with broader language support in the future. Some app updates have also started rolling out this month, including a Microsoft Store update with greatly improved launch performance and richer Windows license pages, and the renaming of Xbox Game Bar to simply Game Bar. Version 23H2 is also cumulative - it includes all features from Moments 2, 3 and 4 enabled by default (Copilot remains region-limited), so upgrading from an older version of Windows 11 or Windows 10 will include all the latest improvements.

Updates:

- October 26: Windows Ink Anywhere and the system components settings page are rolling out to 22H2 now. Not fully available just yet though.

- October 24: 23H2 did not release today, there's a reason I said possible and not certain - however, it was released to OEMs yesterday with multiple ISOs and kits shared. 22631.2428 (KB5031354) is the general availability build, so you'll need an additional update to get the new system component features. The optional KB5031455 update isn't out yet either.

- October 23: Windows Ink Anywhere is also coming with this update, for both 23H2 and 22H2 like the System Components settings page. Expect rollout to begin on Wednesday. KB5031455 is required.

When they enable drag and drop to the start panel I wonder. It was promised to be added in 22H2, but it still doesn't work

On one of my PC's Windows Update only shows KB5031455 Preview but not 23H2. I heard they are both the same? I'll wait a little while longer though, I don't like installing preview updates.

Just to let you know, the last windows 11 update has done nothing but give me migraines. Games crash at startup, apps won't open at all, due to some "error" with a dll file. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. Brand new hp laptop running win11 pro, 16gb ram 4.3 ghz processor AMD ryzen/radeon graphics. And i have to turn game graphics WAY DOWN if i want it to open at all
