I think sieg with be a major antagonist. It was stated he is the strongest of rudeus children if Lara has no prep time. Lara when telling him goodbye stated that even if they became enemies they would always be family.

A possible theory: Shinohara isn't the one who Lara' is waiting/finding, but Laplace, I mean the complete Laplace. The Technique God hasn't been said to be dead but missing, maybe Lara's goal is to combine the Demon God Laplace to Technique God Laplace in order get the last dragon artifact.

They already have the sequel protagonist announced and the title. "Jobless Obliged"...Rudeus' child Sieghart Saladin Greyrat continues the story line, teams up with some people to find away into the Void and kill Hitogami (Man-God).

Rudeus is what made the series a isekai simulation, the struggles, the character growth, developments and all is what made this anime the only isekai that was relatable

Series title probably won't even be "Mushoku Tensei" anymore since it's no longer about Rudeus.
Maybe an overarching/franchise title would be great. Something like "Tales from the Six-faced World"

It’s a wonderful life, prologue is all you need the weight of one man’s life from lone neet to family mage. How his actions changed everything, leading to victory long after his passing. Knowing it would not have been possible without him.

I truly believ it will be akihito, everything feels like waiting for him to take action, clara is searching for him and nanahoshie is literally bound to stay in this world to meet him, plus the last pages of the last volume, which he was (probably) the hero who has reincernated into the future to be reborn again in the past (god were the last pages wild) qhich whould make no sense to include it this late in the story except that he becomes the future main character
