I guess my question is: what is the purpose of the spread? When I'm mixing something, I place the instruments within the parameter of the stereo spectrum where I want/need them to be. Why would I need something else to help me determine that?

Hi Thomas. Quick question; I have an older intel Mac that can only access the "clean" character setting what would be the simplest quick custom tweaks (if there are any) inside the mastering assistant to bring it closer to a "transparent" character starting point? Would I back off on the mids or bass or something for example? I'm sort of a newbie and just trying to learn as I go with videos and trial and error and stuff. I like the video by the way. It's very helpful.

Thank you for this. Could it be that the mastering tool distorts the piece when shared to music? In any case, it seems that there is a terrible distortion when I use the mastering tool.

As far as I understand, there's no need to mix down two two tracks, you can just master the full multitrack mix. So much easier to go back and change stuff.

I'm using Logic ProX 10.8 on an Intel 2020 iMac machine, and the only setting available to me is CLEAN. But I'll try to find your class and learn more about this. I do have an issue that I would love to send to you to see if you can fix. I'm working on an audio book and I want to get this right. SO please reach out to me, then show me how to do it.
