🌠 *Translation Notes:*

*[1]* So, the lyric here goes: ‘당신이 그리워하는 것은 그대일까’ & it uses the words ‘당신’ & ‘그대’ both translate to ‘you’.
There are subtle differences in their meaning though, the latter coming off more poetic & affectionate than the former (although the former gives off a similar vibe).
Therefore, the lyric ‘Is it you that you miss’ sort of feels like it means:
‘Is it the you of that time (the you that I loved) that you miss?’

*[2]* Another important thing to note in the same vein of things: 그대 (geu-dae meaning ‘you’ as discussed previously) and 그때 (geu-ttae meaning ‘that time’) sound very similar & the whole song really hinges on this neat little bit of wordplay as it ponders if it’s the person we miss or our romanticised version of reality / time that we spent with them.
