Oracle APEX 21.2 | Create Setup Form | Job History | Part 1

Today we learn how to create "JOB HISTORY Setup Page/Form" in an Oracle APEX 21.2 InshaAllah. Part 1

Thought # 4

1. Create Form
a. Click on "App Builder"
b. Come to application "APEX21.2"
c. Hit "Create Page" button
d. Click on "Form"
e. Select "Report with Form"
f. Report Type is "Interactive Grid", Assign Report & Form Page Number (16, 17) & Name from your choice.
g. "Page Mode" will be "Modal Dialog" hit "Next" button.
h. "Do not associate this page..", hit "Next" button.
i. Data Source, & Source Type is "Local Database", & "Table" respectively. (you can select "SQL Query" as well)
j. "Table / View Owner" is HR (it is schema owner)
k. Select "JOB_HISTORY" from "Table / View Name" drop down, hit "Next" button.
l. Primary Key Type is "Select Primary Key Column(s)"
m. Select "EMPLOYEE_ID" from "Primary Key Column" drop down, & click "Create" button.
n. Come to "Page Designer", click on "Report1" & assign "Title" like "Job History".

2. Formatting
CREATE Button
a. Click on "CREATE" button
b. Select "Text with Icon" from "Button Template" drop down.
c. "Icon" is "fa-plus" under "Appearance", Press "Save and Run Page" button (Alt+F8)

Come to Page # 17
CANCEL Button
d. Click on "CANCEL" button, change its "Label" to "Back" under "Identification".
e. Select "Create" from "Position" drop down under "Layout"
f. Repeat point "b"
g. "Icon" is "fa-arrow-circle-o-left", under "Appearance.

CREATE Button
h. Click on "CREATE" button, change its "Label" to "Save" under "Identification".
i. Repeat point "b"
j. "Icon" is "fa-save" under "Appearance"

SAVE Button
k. Click on "SAVE" button
l. Select "Create" from "Position" drop down under "Layout"

DELETE Button
m. Click on "DELETE" button
n. Repeat point "b"
o. "Icon" is "fa-trash" under "Appearance", hit "Template Options" area, assign "Danger" from
"Type", "Simple" from "Style" & "Left" from "Icon Position" drop down under "Common" & hit "OK" button.

Page Items
p. Select "P17_EMPLOYEE_ID", & select "Text Field" from "Type" drop down, "P17_JOB_ID", assign their label to "Employee" & "Job" respectively,
"Start New Row" is "On", "Green Color" indicate it is "On", select "1" from "Column", "4" from "Column Span" drop down under "Layout".
q. Select "P17_START_DATE", & select "Date Picker" from "Type" drop down, "P17_DEPARTMENT_ID", Change their "Label" to "Start Date" & "Department",
"Start New Row" is "Off", "Gray Color" indicate it is "Off", select "5" from "Column", "4" from "Column Span" drop down.
r. Select "P17_END_DATE", "Start New Row" is "Off", "Gray Color" indicate it is "Off", select "9" from "Column", "4" from "Column Span" drop down.
s. Hit "Save (Alt+F7)" button.

3. Create Alert
a. Click on "CANCEL" button, scroll down till we find "Behavior", select "Defined by Dynamic Action" from "Action" drop down.
b. Right Click on "CANCEL" button & select "Create Dynamic Action", name it (Alert) under "Dynamic Action"
c. Select "Click" from "Event" drop down under "When"
d. Expand "Alert", "True" option, click on "Show", select "Execute JavaScript Code" from "Action" drop down under "Identification"
e. Provide code on "Code" area under "Settings"
f. Click on "Cancel Dialog", select "Never" from "Type" drop down under "Server-side Condition"
g. Click on "Processing" tab, right click on "After Submit" & select "Create Branch", name it (Go To Page # 16)
h. Click on "No Link Defined" along with "Target" area under "Behavior", Select "16" from "Page" under "Target" & hit "OK" button.
i. Select "CANCEL" from "When Button Pressed", "Type" is "Request = Value" drop down, & "Value" is "CANCEL" under "Server-side Condition"
j. Hit "Save (Alt+F7)" button.
