I'm moving up to Alaska from Texas. Can't wait, it's way too hot here.

Older content, but great information. I'm dying to move to Alaska. Maybe some day, Lord willing, I'll fulfill my dream of living there. These facts are great to know. My favorite place in the world is Alaska and I have not been there...yet! Thanks again, Dude in Alaska!

I really, really want to move there. Specifically, I want to move to Wasilla. I've looked into houses, land, temperature, how far from stores, what would be needed. I really want it. What's stopping me? The money. But, God, it looks amazing and it's kinda been my dream since I was younger.

I actually started following a couple 'Simple Living Alaska' and their story has just made me want it more, which sucks. I tend to ask millions of questions then get really depressed, knowing I'll probably never get there.

Ya you forgot the "mosquitos". Noseems or White socks. Hell they are worst than Bears are. So thick they can stop a D-8 cat from running, by plugging the air cleaner.

When I moved to the lower 48, people would ask me about igloos. I always told them that my igloo melted due to global warming and I became homeless. That's why I'm in the lower 48.

Don't worry, you can admit y'all live in igloos, down here in Louisiana, instead of cars we ride on alligators down the bayou. But in all seriousness, I'm tired of this heat and humidity... Can't wait to attend UAF in a couple years.

I would say a lot of these things can be said about Northern Minnesota as well. I’ve been outside at midnight in the middle of the summer at the cabin and still see twilight over the western skies. Also most non Minnesotans think we are all Canadians and live in igloos.

I always thought you welcomed tourists while sitting atop your polar bear waving at the Russians who are riding their snowmobiles around. I guess I was wrong.

You forgot that the FAA has ruled that mosquitoes must be equipped with anti-collision lights. Other than that, you covered it pretty well when it comes to the basics. I think you have a subject that could support several more with just as much wit as what you've shown here. Judging by the date this one was posted, you have probably already done that. Well done, my friend.
