Context: when I was little, and was allowed to go to my dad’s to stay the night, I would get excited and wait for him but he would not show up because he would party and forget to pick me up. It happened almost everytime that I felt embarrassed that I was look through the window or waited outside to see his car all day.

I relate to that too. Though it wasn't exactly the same but when I was a kid I had a friend who would pretty much ditch me whenever. She told me that she was going to the movie theaters without me and I couldn't go since I didn't had the money and I had to stay behind in her house. So the whole time I was just sitting on her bed as I waited patiently for her to come back. Before I didn't think much of it but now I feel like a fool waiting for her ☹️
