For certain maintenance tasks, I've used my bike rack to hold my bike before I found a good deal on an older park stand on Craigslist. Cheers!

it may expose their weaknesses thereby making it much easier to detect whether they are doping (drug or mechanical) during a race .. lol !!

#AskGCNTech following on from the question about aero vs weight, what about drafting? I would think that if you are in a group, the aero benefit of the bike/wheels/etc is less influential but that is obviously not the case when it comes to weight going up hill.

#askgcntech If a manufacturer was willing, is there any disadvantage to buying an unpainted aluminum or carbon fiber frame set? And what would it look like? Thanks I really enjoy all your videos.

Hey Ollie, do you think I could borrow some tools from the board behind you since your return policy is so soft? ;-) My question inspired by Tom McCafferty.

#askgcntech trying to determine a better indoor riding option in the winter. Wife life peloton bike but I’m interested in smart trainer. what is the difference between the smart trainer and interactive cycling bike like a peloton?

Hi Olli thanks for the great Video. Sadly in your Video about Geometrie and Trail is the wheelbase constant.

I am about to Upgrade my Old caad5 with a new fork.
That is my Chance to get a longer Trail by choosing a fork with less Offset/rake. (Right?!)
However that will shorten my wheelbase which will make the bike less stable again?!

What should i do if my goal is a stable and fast bike in a straight line?
At the Same time it should be safer When riding Freehands. :)
Thank you very much

#ASKGCNTECH Talking about data and for all For all the "data junkies" out there, this must be a golden age for cycling. Just looking at one of my recent rides and the various data collected inside the resulting FIT file, made me think about how much we use them. Most of us will be familiar with sensores collecting Temperature, Altitude and Gradient, Cadence and Speed, and some will have HR monitors. Then we have things like Power (wattage), Gear selections and number of changes, Radar for approaching vehicles (Totals, relative and absolute speed), and control over lights and gear selection modes.
What do you use and what benefits do you get?

Hi ollie my question is how to get a faster average speed over a standard ride of 20, 30, 40 miles ride. Im currently averaging 18+ but just can't get to 20 mph average. Please help me

My chain is stretched. I put a new chain on. It jumps in the smallest sprocket when I pedal hard. In the easiest gear the chainring is very noisy. The standard advice seems to be a new cassette and chain rings. It should work but ... £££. Going back to the old chain makes everything seem to work nicely again. I’ve heard that chains should be replaced regularly to avoid wear to cassettes and chainrings, which seems reasonable. If the chain, rings and cassette are already worn though, which mine are, why not carry on using it all with the old chain and save £££? It appears to work still and seems greener. Is it just for the sake of a few watts? Thanks! Your shows have helped a very broken man stay relatively sane over the last few years.

#AskGCNTech hi ollie, did any company developed a hub system that can lock the freehub body with a press of a button like the internal gears discussed this previous weeks in the channel? It allows a standard roadbike to become a fixed gear bike whenever cyclist needs to sprint.

#AskGCNTech: Why have bike manufacturers started using Torx bolts? Anybody who has discovered themselves at the side of the road with a loose seatpost or handlebars and a multitool without a Torx bit has definitely cursed Torx bolts. The design of Torx bolts works better for high torque settings but it seems pointless for seatposts or stem bolts which are normally 4-6nm.

Hi Ollie/Manon/Si/Jon?/Connor, I have a full 105 groupset except for the crankset which is a praxis alba (the older one). My chain (kmc x11el) skips only at the smaller chainring of the praxis and at any cog at the back and only on the 11-2 o'clock position driveside. All my derailleurs are properly tuned according to Shimano's manual and it skips even at the straightest chain line and where the FD isn't rubbing. I saw it in action and it looks like the chain on the bottom gets pushed and disengages from the teeth only at the 11-2 o'clock position. It happened since the day i got it and until now (1 month ago, new).i would like to show it to a mechanic but were still in lockdown. Whats wrong?

Zip ties are the worst! Any elegant solutions to securing a Di2 wire to a brake hose coming out of the headset? Cheers.
