There's nothing I love more than cooking up a fresh lake trout dinner over the campfire while on a boundary waters canoe camping trip. Some prefer walleye fillets, but Lake Trout are more special to me. Their difficulty to catch, relative rarity, incredible fight and beautiful coloration - some of the most variable of any species in the world - all lead to a more fulfilling experience in my opinion.
If you like salmon, you will certainly enjoy eating Lake Trout - especially if you are the one who worked hard to put that fish in the frying pan!
