God she looks STUNNING here. She's such a visually iconic and deeply attractive person.
She's also...a legit musical genius, imo. One sign of that (among many) is her knack for _restraint_ and playing with tension & release. Take this *_Prince Johnny_* performance...the outro/solo. She _can_ bust out a classic rock bluesy solo if she wants. She has that skill in her back pocket...and she'll tease you with it here and there. But much of the time she's using the guitar to try NEW things, cultivating her own style. Using tension and dissonance and timbre in really artistic ways.

She'll take really antiseptic hyper minimal hyper clean sounds...and then introduce harmonic distortion and chaos and disjointed jazzy intervals going in and out of tune. No one else sounds like her. It's the sound of someone who craves strict control...letting themselves fall apart and go mad. It's such a cool perspective to create from. But I also just love that she IS good enough at guitar to blow the minds of skeptical rock dudes with a pitch perfect cover of some Zeppelin tune...but she's not necessarily interesting in doing that, at least not all the time. Tho it is cool when she does lean into that...like her cover of The Beatles "Dig a Pony." Gah...that is so good.

Usually you see some very fine concerts where the crowd is lame. This is one example. It is one of Annie's best performances and I would be screaming and going crazy there haha

I love this.
I will never understand though why people feel the need to watch it through their phones when it's being professionally filmed and recorded, just experience the moment rather than worrying about showing people you were at the gig.
