How to make a Flamethrower in Houdini | PyroFX + Karma

In this tutorial, I'll show you the simplest way to simulate a #flamethrower in #Houdini !
I'll show you how to create a custom source with a particle system and then use the pyro solver to simulate a flamethrower.
I'll use #Karma in the Solaris to render the project and finally, we do a basic setup of compositing inside the #Nuke.
This tutorial is perfect for beginners artists who want to improve her/his PyroFX knowledge but also some parts might be useful for more advanced artists too!

I haven't watched it yet, but thank you for providing this tutorial, for beginners. It's quite hard to find good material on what seems to me a complicated first (tho I know for certain this is what it seems to me and not what it is).

Hi, great stuff dude, question, if I may, at about 5:14, "slow down" node, attributes, you are typing a star, space, and v, what is that shape in between looks like a small, upper case A, also, is the "V" lower or upper case. Thank you in advance, CZ

Hi! First of all great tutorial! I do have a question, why do you use microsolvers to change the disturbance and turbulence of the sim instead of using the built in parameters? Is there any difference? Thank you!

Hi thank you for the tutorial can you tell me how do you determine the scale of the scene? this flamethrower is few meters big which is way bigger than real-life flamethrower does it affect the pyro simulation and if so what is the best scale for pyro simulations?

Took exactly 7:15 seconds for this tutorial to fly completely off the rails. This program is ridiculous.
