"Why would I value someone's criticism if I don't care about their opinion?" What a perfect way to say it. Regarding ranting about your ex, we all instinctively know it drives other people away, so if we're not ready for another relationship but can't consciously admit it, we can use this behavior as a self-defense mechanism to keep people at a safe distance. A mature person will bring that up to conscious awareness and own it as a stage they're going through on their healing journey, whereas an immature person will sublimate it under the guise of presenting themselves as an innocent victim.

Your channel just happened to come across my screen. I must say I was impressed with the manner in which you presented this video. Polite, clear, a little humorous, and in a composed way. One thing that stood out was where you mentioned that we shouldn't be dependent upon someone else to make us happy, but be happy and complete in ourselves and let our partner complement us. I was married 3 months shy of 30 years, until my husband passed 6 years ago. Be playful...I agree, sometimes it feels good not to act our age:), and even though we are up in years, go a head and act like a kid or a teenager again!! Life is serious, I know, but a smile, and laughter goes a long way. A merry heart doeth good like medicine. And grumpy people usually aren't healthy either, and no one enjoys their company. Be a ray of sunshine. Be positive. There are times that one can be negative because of certain circumstances, but that shouldn't be the tenor of our character. I enjoy being cheerful, and as you say, love my job giving heart and soul into it, even though I'm dog tired at the end of the day, :) I have my own style, all which I hope someday some good man may come to appreciate.

The key is to look for validation and acceptance in your relationship with Jesus Christ first. You won’t find that in any relationship, especially if you’re not secure in the knowledge of your value, worth and that you are enough.
