Ten Paths To God: #5 Love as Justice

Join Rabbi Reuven Ibragimov as we look at Rabbi Sacks' perspective on the mitzvah of tzedakah in this fifth session. The unit will examine four key concepts: the ethics of material wealth in Judaism, the universal Jewish call to responsibility, spiritual and moral growth through tzedakah, and human dignity as a key value. Tzedakah, often translated as charity, is a more complex concept for Rabbi Sacks, combining ideas of justice and love. Tzedakah calls us to embody God's dual nature towards others, as he is both a judge and a parent. As a result, the title of the unit is 'Tzedakah: Love as Justice'.
