Cleaning an extremely tarnished silver ring found metal detecting

Found an extremely tarnished / corroded silver ring in the ocean. I clean it in a few ways to get back down to the metal and confirm if it's silver

I also used Colgate toothpaste. You will be surprised how fast it works.

White was probably calcium stuff from the ocean, incredible how much the levels need to be. I started keeping a reef tank few months back

Might of said Mexico .925, Taxco silver is a common stamp on Vintage Mexican Silver

It might not have been that old. Being in the ocean may tarnish it very well. Probably could get that way within 5-10 years just as much.

Salt? Only used foil-hot water-baking soda. Usually works!
