iPhone X / XS / XR HOW TO: Insert / Remove a SIM Card

This video also works for the iPhone XS Max! Inside I'll show you how to insert a Nano SIM card into the Apple iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR. These instructions can also be replicated on any iPhone.

Directions:

1. Locate the NanoSIM Slot

2. Use a paperclip or the Sim card removal tool that came with the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and align end with the pinhole

3. Push paperclip/tool in until the tray slides out

4. Remove tray and fit the NanoSIM card (contact points facing down)

5. Align the two pin holes and reinsert tray into phone

6. Press tray into phone and that's it - drink a beer!

So apparently the sim card works even if the gold side is face up. I got an XR but the sim card had the cut corner on the wrong side. I gave it a try and it worked. Bizarre, but there you go.

My mobile providers said it’s just like a key turn and then replace it and put it back in but u actually helped

Thanks, this helps a lot. If you find your sim slot to be stuck, you might want to push it a lil bit HARDER than usual, give a strong squeeze and Im sure it will pop out.

I dropped my iPhone X literally 3 feet above ground. IPhone said no SIM card. I did popped out the sim card like you did and put it back in no problem. Thanks for the fix.

you could use a led pencil for whoever dont got a paper clip or the tool for the ting

Push pin/thumbtack works if you don't have the above or if the paperclip isn't working (my paperclip kept bending)

How can an iPhone be waterproof if they all have this hole on the side which exposes a SIMs surface to water? Hey, this is the first time I've ever been first to comment on a video. Does the "surface tension" of water prevent the SIM cavity from getting wet? If so, for how long?
