Mercedes has unveiled the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, an even more opulent version of the standard SL Roadster. Mercedes says the SL Monogram Series is the sportiest car in Maybach’s history. Renuka Kirpalani tells you more.

Tons of monogramming. Even if it is overdone, I like it on the SL 680. Both the paint schemes look mesmerising. In my opinion the Black & White gives a halo effect.

One thing that is hard to digest is the fact that why do premium interiors are offered in White color? Isn't there any other color that looks premium, soothing to the eyes & of course easy to maintain for the interiors?

I personally feel that this model is an absolute beauty. I wish they didn't name it SL coz SL has a separate fanbase in the AMG series and adding the same name really makes it awkward. It's also sad to see the over-added logos on the entire vehicle screaming Maybach everywhere. I mean you did it on the grill, on the sides, on the back and on the front. That much print suffices the brand value. On the hood and also on the droptop is too much. Maybe someone who wanted both luxury and performance would prefer a classy carbon fiber hood maybe? The interior too looks cheaper than the actual price tag. I mean, look at the S-Class interior (considering we're dealing with Maybach) Well I ain't rich so maybe my thought won't count. No harsh words please.

In my opinion, the Maybach and Performance V8 AMG don’t sound good together. Maybach means luxury as we have seen throughout the year, They should go with a V12 engine makes more sense to me.

This is simply disturbing to see what these guys are doing to their flagship lineup! They could have at least extended the wheelbase and also increased the overall length of the vehicle to accentuate the appeal of the Maybach concept which they release 6-7 years back! This just doesn't seem like maybach at all.
