Looks like the guy on the left didn’t stay left. Instead he went towards the right. Hard to tell from that single view.

I remember contemplating this when I watched it in the original video, I come back to same answer, I think it’s the guy on the left. Just didn’t leave enough room for the guy on the right, and he had the ability to give him some room. Guy on right wasn’t backing down, even if he had he might have to take an off track to avoid contact

When I first saw this I thought the guy on the right was too aggressive. However watching this back again, the left driver should have been moving left by now for the next turn. But he seems to be trying to stay to the right to compromise the other drivers next right hand turn.

It’s tough but I’ll say left. It’s a right hander next so naturally you should be placing car on the left of the track. But the left car was being quite unpredictable and squeezed the other so hard.

Absolutely the driver on the left crossed over onto the driver on the rights drive line. Hence the driver on the rights front end rubbing the side of the left drivers right quarter panel. If the driver on the right hit the very rear of the car that would be a different story. But due to the driver on the left having his quarter panel hit which is the side of the car is what determines the incident being his own fault for crossing over the driver on the rights line.

I was caught in a nearly identical situation. Dude tried to squeeze me on the straight after eau rouge and I just didn’t catch the movement in time. He spun out, crashed me and another behind..

Left. From the camera angles it looks like the left car tries to put the squeeze on the right one on the straight to limit their ability to take the inside line for the next corner, but misjudged how much space the right car had to the edge of the track. Right wasn't fully alongside but was entitled to exist. If right backs out there, given it was the opening lap, at best they're getting swallowed up by the chasing pack and at worst, they're the catalyst for an incident.

The guy on the left caused the final accident but the guy on the right was driving way too aggressively prior

Left. You can't push people off the track and expect not to get turned. He was ahead and so yes had every right to limit the line of the car on the right. But Left just kept coming and right is allowed to stay on track if they want. Problem could have been easily avoided by taking a normal line and just out racing the other car. The upcoming corners as a sequence favor the car on the left if they have a lead and they could easily have just taken the place naturally through the esses.
