People seem to forget who United had to beat to get to the FA cup and champions league final. 😂

Spoiler alert:

Same group as Barcelona and Bayern followed by quarterfinal against Inter(Ronaldo, Baggio and Pirlo), semifinal against Juve(Del piero, Zizou, Didier Deschamps, Antonio conte, Inzaghi) and final comeback win against Bayern.

The FA cup United had to beat Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Their treble that year was more impressive than most think.

How is fighting till the very end of a final fortunate? When we beat Arsenal in the semi we were down to 10 men, Schmeichel saved a penalty and Giggs ran through Arsenals midfield to score the winner, united more than earned there treble just like City have. Both are great teams of there time.

The fact is that United treble team wasn’t always the favourites to win them. They won the league in the last day and the CL in the last 5 minutes.

City however, were very clear favorites against any team they’ve come up against. They were the favourites to beat madrid, Bayern.

Even when Arsenal were 10 points clear, City were still the favorites to win it, and they won with 2 games in hand.

If united had man city depth they would probably win treble plus invincible that season. Or multi treble. There is a difference between having mahrez, laporte, kalvin phillips 180 million depth and nicky butt, blomqvist and teddy sheringham. Let alone having 5 subs you can rotate in out and out. United couldnt rotate their midfield cause literally they had 3 players for central midfield to play all the games 🤣

This United team's victory was a miracle and the first. The City's treble was just a matter of when not if. City just are too op and sometimes, in life you got to see the dog days to appreciate the golden times ahead.
