DIY Cardboard Castle
Показать описание
Ready for hours of fun adventures and imagination?! Grab a recycled cardboard box and create a magical little DIY for your little ones! This Printable Castle Template comes with a working drawbridge, princess and knight puppets and an articulated dragon puppet!
Here’s how we put it together:
Start by printing the castle pages (we printed on kraft paper).
Next, cut out all the pieces.
Assembling the dragon first, cut holes using a hole puncher.
Attach dragon pieces using mini metal paper brads.
Glue the walls of the castle to pieces of cardboard making sure everything is flat.
Cut out the doors:
Use a craft knife or box cutter to cut the door for opening and closing.
Cut down the middle (below the stone arch).
Cut around the top (only to the first hinge on each side).
Flip over and lightly cut the cardboard from the first hinge to the bottom (be sure not to cut all the way through).
Assemble the drawbridge:
Gluing the paper drawbridge pieces to the front and back of a piece of cardboard.
Use a box cutter and a small screwdriver to make the holes in the castle and bridge where the string will go.
Cut off the excess cardboard (on top of walls).
Cut a little piece at the bottom of the door for easy opening of the drawbridge.
Thread string through the holes in the drawbridge and then through each hole in the castle.
Attach the drawbridge to the bottom of the castle wall using tape.
After making sure the length is correct, tie the string at the back of the castle wall.
Make two small cuts to the bottom of two empty toilet paper rolls (this will allow you to easily attach them to the castle walls).
Glue the turret pieces to the toilet paper rolls and slide them into place on the castle walls.
Using tape, attach the remaining castle pieces.
Attach the dragon to a stick using tape.
Optional: Make a stand using popsicle sticks or just directly attach the people pieces to a stick…
Have fun!
