Could you use the vector spiral to connect to the golden ratio? In other words, if one looks down into the gravity well @ 90* and "trace" the spiral path, would it represent the golden ratio? I'm out of my depth in the maths involved but curious.

Real asteroids hold together better because the distance between individual clumps of rock or dust are much closer to one another, relative to their orbit around the Sun (or other body). Unfortunately, a scale model of an asteroid orbiting the Sun would not be visible with the naked eye.
Unless maybe Paul convinced VU to let him cover the entire campus with spandex for a physics demonstration.
