You know what’s really depressing? We’ve all known this for 20 years.

Google's search results have been getting worse for decades as they prioritize influencing opinions rather than making it easy to find information. Not sure anyone will even notice if the loss of metadata impacts search quality.

The negative consequences of Google antitrust sounds like it was written by Google 😅😂

I trust googles search results less and less as they continue to develop the complexity of their algorithms that determine what they WANT you to see

But I mean, everyone knew they were paying to be the default search.
This wasn't a secret at all.

A change in people's search engine preferences would be one of the least important aspects to the fallout from a major google breakup. I don't know anyone that's this in love with Google search specifically. I never use Google search. Even with web-based research being a major component of my work, I'm about equally effective with any other decent search engine.

Literally the first thing I do after installing Firefox is change the default search every time.

I find it harder already to look things up with google, it seems they like to bury things.

Wonderful, now go after the rest of the monopolies. What about corporate monopolies like Blackrock, Statestreet, Vanguard, to name a few?

Wouldn't bother me. I haven't used Google to search in years...

Get it, Kurt! I applied for a Google job over the Internet in 1995 and heard zero from them. Glad I didn't get the job. Paralegal now. 😁

I personally don't care about the monopoly Google has so much as I care about my privacy and the censorship that Google has complete control over throughout it's companies including Youtube. So until someone comes up with a solution for that I'm no really interested in the breaking up of the company unless the privacy( selling everybit of information about me) and the censorship and control is recified.

I think we need to choose the browser like we used to do. I’m an NP, I can’t refer to patients to my best friends, I have to give them choices. The same laws should apply to every company.

How many companies to split Google into. 1. Android phone operating system, 2. Youtube, 3, Chrome browser, 4. Google search. 5. Other softwarel ike Google Docs, Google classroom, etc.

One of the biggest problems with the G is the terms of service cover all.
If you flip out on yt because someone baited you and they report you for a nasty you could lose access to your email, phone and might even get literally locked out of your home. Not to mention having the thought police pay attention to every comma and t.

The is to show that the gov is acting in the interest of the people. That couldn't be farther from the truth and everything happening with this case is complete bs and actually the results will probably make things worse for everyone.

5:00 You will have a very difficult road defending that position. All innovations were sourced from Bell. The division into many independent bell systems did nothing for competition. Each just had a tighter choke hold on their respective regions. None of them innovated... They milked their cash cows, paid their executives handsomely. Bell Labs is responsible for everything you have today. Internet, fiber optics, cell phone, operating systems... All because they dumped money back into research with little to no expectation for a return on the spend. Yet they produced products and technology before markets even knew what to do with them.
