Larry does the real math and figures out that 10,000 hours is actually just the cover charge that gets you in the door...so you can actually begin learning....

I'd Love to Change the World is the first song I taught myself, on Christmas morning, with the new Kay guitar my dad picked out for me. No YouTube or tabs in 1971 kids. Thanks for the memories LT.

I’m 12 seconds in and this one’s already in my top 10 class sessions. That old bird sings in the lower register. Magical stuff Tom. Beautiful harmonic resonance. The chase continues. Bravo! 👏🏻

I was lucky enough to see steely Dan on their last tour. Their musicianship was crazy good. They had mounds of soul. They are very polarizing

I can only speak for me - this is the greatest YouTube guitar channel. Love my Uncle Larry and hope to meet him someday. Steely Dan had so many great iconic riffs.

The whole 10 minutes....then re-watched 3 times without being bored in the slightest.

Your 'jam' videos are killer! I started imagining what it would be like to hear Medeski Martin Wood and Bukovac, or Tommy with Derek Trucks, Herbie Hancock, Otiel Burbage and Steve Gadd.

Love the jams, love the sessions, love the interviews....we love you and what you do Uncle Larry.

I dig it all.

Had to pause this and listen to some Santo & Johnny. Nice getting that sound out of the Gretsch.

Steely Dan is the bees knees! So many great grooves and cool choices made.

You take us to another dimension Uncle Larry. Pushed me to be more creative and take the chance in my own playing... Lead player at church. I pray for you and your family often, God bless you sir...

When I was young Steely Dan wasn’t really loud and raucous enough, but over time as you get to know more harmonically rich music you get to appreciate it more.

Another amazing session Tom - thank you sincerely for these. You're a man of grace and peace. I swear it takes me back 50 years to my Dad first showing me things on guitar. That is if my Dad had been a first call session pro... but he got me far enough to get me started and 50 years later I've learned to do a few things ok. Thanks for broadening my mind and teaching me so many things over these last four years. Can't wait for the next class.

I often make breakfast while listening to your videos, makes mornings very enjoyable, entertaining and enlightening; also fires me up to start my practice day ;) ... I love the shifting harmonies in this video, very contemporary, almost orchestral sounding!

Steely Dan - in my top 3 "groups" of all time - they are outstandingly amazing writers and composers and their choice of musicians is on another level - Larry said they would at times use 7 different players performing a track and choose the one they thought fit best. WOW.
