2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S vs Tesla Model S Plaid - Half Mile Races

Half mile standing start "arm drop" races between a 2015 Porsche 911 Turbo S and two Tesla Model S Plaid. Races from October 9, 2021 at OmegaMotorsports NoFlyZone at Minter Airfield in Southern California.

Plaid just got an OTA update with track mode, drift mode and a 175 top speed. It's ready for the 1/2 rematch!!!!

It's a fun video. But the Plaids would be hitting the 1/4 mile in the low 9s at around 152MPH, and then quickly hit the speed limiter at 161-163MPH, so then just after the 1/4 mile mark the Plaids would be stuck at 161-163MPH all the way through the second half of the 1/2 mile, waiting for the unlimited Porsche 911TT to catch up. These races beg for a rematch after the Plaid's speed limiter is removed next year.

Mad respect for doing as well as you did! I think once they unlock the 200mph limit that Plaid is going to be hard to catch to 200! There is something no one thought we’d be saying a few years ago!

I didn't realize that the turbo S is only 700 whp which is not enough to beat the plaid even though turbo ss are rockets off the line. If it weren't for the plaid software limited speed at 161 mph, you wouldn't have won any 1/2 mile race.

So yeah, I agree. It's time for a turbo upgrade, so you can at least beat those common plaids that so many people have due to its low price tag.

Great stuff Adam as usual- its Vic55 here and guess what? I got one of those slingshot golf carts as well LOL- I swore I never would get an EV but this novelty itch had to be scratched and Im happy I did. Of course its not a replacement for any of my ICE cars but its a nice compliment and soul crusher on the streets. Great videos as always.

The Porsche pulls hard!!! wow its quick! Any upgrades done to Porsche? Once plaid comes out with new update it'll be able to hit 200mph, looks like it tops out in the 1/2 mile

Great races ! Love the Porsche as a previous owner of a 991.1 tts. But as indeed we all saw this coming one day.. that Tesla is just nuts. And also have to keep in mind that in real life, for a example a little race at a stop light the difference would be even bigger in favor of the Tesla as it nearly launches as hard without launch control .. would be another story for the turbo without launch control …

Plaid has a speed limiter, that’s why at the top end the Porsche gains on it.

Your car is no joke but the Plaid just pulls like a freight train. You can't stop progress I guess, I'll take my 993 C4S over a Plaid any day of the week though :)

Yeah but If like to see how the Plaid would do on a race track against the Turbo S. That's where all the cars engineering will come into play.
