I'm back with another Hymn, I found this beauty from a viral video by the band Árstíðir who sung this in a train station. The performance and the reverb gave me the ultimate chills. 5 years later here I am bringing this to you in 8 parts, hope you like it! (PS Icelandic is really hard to sing)

Are you looking for a custom arrangement for your choir/ensemble!?
Are you looking for sheet music for any arrangement you hear on this channel?

Lyrics:
Listen, smith of the heavens,
what the poet asks.
May softly come unto me
your mercy.
So I call on thee,
for you have created me.
I am thy slave,
you are my Lord.

God, I call on thee to heal me.
Remember me, mild one,
Most we need thee.
Drive out, O king of suns,
generous and great,
every human sorrow
from the city of the heart.

Watch over me, mild one,
Most we need thee,
truly every moment
in the world of men.
send us, son of the virgin,
good causes,
all aid is from thee,
in my heart.

A commenter has noted a mistake in the 2nd verse translation, apologies in advance and I hope it doesn't take away from the music.

Sam, I thank God for you & His gift of music. I have a music degree & have had choirs that did well. When I was teaching I took my students to an Episcopal cathedral in Seattle, Washington to hear this kind of music, Gregorian chant. The previous choir director had not prepared the choir well for competition they entered. A disastrous result made the students afraid of performing. After a year or so, a small madrigal group of 9-12 singers won top awards for their performance of Sicut cervus - Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594) @ a high school, Christian school music event. We sang mostly a cappella music from that period, which boosted the singer's confidence & ability. They were shown they could sing without any musical instruments to 'cover' for them. It was a lovely experience for me & the group. One member later sang w/Metropolitan Opera. [Not my doing, God's] they stood on their own newfound musical strength. Several are still in music, now understanding what a cappella music did to boost their love of music.

This Icelandic hymn is one of the tabs in my browser that opens every day when I start my computer.

Wow. This sounds so beautiful, even though I initially thought it was playing backwards.

WOW! What a beautiful hymn and what a gorgeous arrangement. It is music that draws out the text in a very reverent and worshipful way. And of course, your singing is as brilliant as ever! This is one of those that I'll be coming back to time and again! Thank you.
