Mayonaka Punch Confirms July Premiere in New Trailer
The upcoming Mayonaka Punch original anime revealed a new trailer and July 8 premiere date earlier today. Studio PA Works is animating the series with Shu Honma as the director.
The cast is also performing the theme songs as their characters. Live, Fuu, Tokage, Ichiko, and Yuki are performing the opening theme song, titled “Gimigimi” (featured in the trailer), while Masaki is in charge of the ending song “Henshuten.”
The story follows Masaki, a member of the NewTuber group “Harakiri Sisters,” who got fired due to an incident. Masaki then is trying to make a comeback and meets Live. Aiming to hit a million channel subscribers, Masaki now makes the best videos with Live, who has supernatural abilities.
The Mayonaka Punch original anime got a manga adaptation by Tomomi Usui that began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine in March 2024. A light novel written by Tsuzuro Hibi and illustrated by Tsukasa Kotobuki is set to be serialized under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
