Thanks, I obtained a bachelors in technology (BAT) in 2019 and followed up with numerous IT certifications. My focus was to get into some role in IT management but I realized I didn’t really want to be on the technical side. I was only seen as a technician even though I had the degree and certifications and got passed over after applying for management roles. So I decided to go to the top certifications like CISSP and CISA. I’ve since changed my focus to cybersecurity and I am currently undertaking a CISSP bootcamp online. I am also pursuing a masters in CS online at Lamar University or UT at Houston. While this is in the works I will be finishing up the CISSP bootcamp at the end of July, then scheduling the exam. But since then, I have been noticing that CISSP is more into technical management which is ok for but my real focus and goal is CISO, CIO, or Director of technology, or even GRC role. This all led me back to CISM, and your video has really shifted my plans since you mentioned the career opportunities that fit more into my plans to become a CISO or Director role. I was planning to move into the CISM training right after I complete the CISSP bootcamp. Im trying to get all this done before the semester starts up in the fall semester. So my thinking is that getting my masters with the CISSP, and CISM I should become a valuable candidate and help me excel above the competition. I really want to prove to those who overlooked my academic skills and certifications that I can excel beyond them. I have a motivation to have an impressive resume and educational background and to prove to myself and others that I can be better. So, for some reason your video and the terms used hit me on the nose, and resonated with me. And, thats why I decided to post this. I see there are no comments yet after 5 months and Im the first one but you did really inspire me to get on a path, level, and direction meaning should I continue on with the CISSP or get started in the CISM training? I hope others will take the time to read my comment and get encourage for your approach to cybersecurity roles. Thanks again, and I will subscribe.
