We should live in a society where a woman taking off her wetsuit on a beach is no big deal, even if she is momentarily naked. She’s simply changing and will put on clothes in a moment. Her brief nudity doesn’t make her any less intelligent or valuable as a person. Sure, some men might appreciate the view, but that’s no excuse for behaving like idiots—pulling out cameras or making rude, inappropriate comments about her body. Instead, they should be respectful and grateful that she feels comfortable enough to be herself in their presence. Nude beaches are common in Europe, yet Americans often act like prudish moralists. This attitude doesn’t make us better people—it just highlights how unnecessarily uptight we can be.
