You get them off by getting a bunch of food and then taking off all your other armor and just camping out next to a cactus until it ticks away the durability on the boots.

Magma blocks are cactuses will get those things right off especially since they're golden

Obviously you're supposed to use the "hat" of friendship that you get from the endships so that it's more permanent and more caring
