It's crazy because I think messi has one of the best international careers and the best club career...

Too much critics on the Canadian team. As a brazillian I can say Canada was 3 levels above USMNT. I would say for the last 6 years. That is a big thing.

7 finals in the past 10 years. There's no football without Argentina.

I mean how many finals Argentina have played? Six World Cup finals (1930, 1978, 1986, 1990, 2014, 2022) and God knows how many Copa Finals? 30? That's a GIANT football nation.

Canada already had a slim chance to beat Argentina, but the referee have been awful and inconsistent giving de paul a ghost foul but, Alphonso ankle being taken out under him with no attempt to get the ball isn’t even a foul. Ridiculous. On top of that drake betting for Canada, the odds for Canada winning that game were 0.

The Canadian national football team needs a stronger striker because in today's match, the weakness of Canada's attackers in the penalty area became clear.

The fact that ESPN is criticizing Canada proves how far we’ve come. It was always “they hung in there” or “they tried” but now it’s disappointment. I appreciate the new found respect we’ve garnered from these pundits.

I respect the guys for calling out Canada's play but to quote a notable Brooklyn rapper "we ain't even supposed to be here." I don't think Canada's ever played such a number of top tier quality opponents in a short run: The Netherlands, France, and Argentina twice all in hostile territory. The fact that they held the Dutch to a scoreless half, drew 0-0 in France, and only conceded four goals in two matches against the friggin' World Champs and didn't play intimidated is a win in and of itself. I also like Marsch's attacking mentality which brings to mind Woody Harrelson's portrayal of John McCain campaign manager, Steve Schmidt, in the 2012 HBO Film "Game Change" (in that character's reaction to potentially picking Sarah Palin as a running mate): "If it were me, I'd rather lose by 10 points going for the win, than lose by one and say dammit we should've gone for the win." For a team that almost missed out qualifying for this tournament and to be the only non-South American side in the final four (with an additional game Saturday) win, win, win lol

Alvarez is a beast on the field with the intensity he runs and presses all around. I have never seen anyone has this much work rate.

If that had been Christian Pulisic who was Captain and led his team to the semifinals of the Copa before getting injured out of the game with 1/3 of the game still to play on a dirty tackle, the likes of Kasey Keller amd other Americans would have been whining with rage about the opponents and the officiating. Instead it is Alphonso Davies this happens to, so the panel acts like the dirty tackle never happened as it is not even mentioned. I appreciate Herc standing up for us against the bitter numb nuts from Venezuela who admits he is biased, but again I ask ESPN to consider calling in somebody from Canada for a proper Canadian perspective. There are clearly a lot of Canadian viewers (potentially or actually) for this show, particularly as we move closer to 2026.

Drake put a not insignificant wager down on this game in favor of his homeland.

Just in case any Canadians needed an excuse

I think Canada just couldn't press like they did against Venezuela because of the heat and the turnaround between games. The legs just weren't there.

This media run is bias and pointless. That Canada coach is the same coach you wanted for the USA … you praised him days ago
