Small Kratovo became one of my Macedonia highlights; partly because local guides, Stevce, Jakim, and Goran gave such interesting facts and information. After all, how many times does a tourist see: White Pines from the Fourteenth Century; a bridge meant to resemble the builder's real face which was noseless; Ottoman history, and feudal towers.

I did my editing best and still came up with multiple videos to save your brain cells and mine. Keep watching for Parts 2 and 3 gives a short Jewish history and the last, covers one of my favorite subjects - food). L-o-v-ed this little town...

It's so hard to believe a tree could survive so long. And scientists have tried growing trees from these seedings but they won't grow anywhere else. 'Tis a puzzlement.

pity that I can not post a picture of these old pines will just tell you that long ago were four pine trees, one of which is broken and the other is cut for the purpose of building a bridge in Kratovo! be greeted by Zika bajev Kratovo Macedonia! ps Sorry handwriting!
