Kiki Valera y su Son Cubano (Music Performance 2022)

Valera is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, sound engineer, and producer, and he’s best known as one of the world’s greatest players of the Cuban cuatro— a mid-size, 8-stringed guitar.

Kiki Valera y su Son Cubano were founded by Valera of the Santiago de Cuba’s family music ensemble La Familia Valera Miranda – the legendary ensemble spanning four generations, who are credited amongst the founding pioneers of son music traditions of Cuba’s Sierra Maestra region. Now based in the USA, Kiki has assembled his own group that features the best of Latin America’s ex-pat musicians.

Through musical performances, global artists have the power to challenge out preconceived notions of what “the other” thinks and feels.
