I had a tubal ligation at 27. Had a reversal 7 years later. I am now 38 with a 2 year old and a 9 month old. I was trying not to get pregnant, but he became irresistible on ovulation day those 2 times. Nurses have commented on how hard it should have been for me to get pregnant after the reversal, but God's will will beat any odds.

I had our youngest baby at almost 43. All naturally. Best pregnancy I had had. I will say recovery is a bit harder in your forties, than in your twenties and thirties but it's all worth it.

My mom had me at 42, she’s fine, I’m fine…

My mom was in her mid 50s when she had me. She had to use two donated eggs, and both of them worked. What made her pregnancy experience worse was that she had to get an emergency c-section nearly 3 months before my due date. But, my mother was in God’s hands and my twin brother and I were born healthily. So, being in your mid 40s and getting pregnant isn’t a horrible thing to do (but this depends on your situation!).

TL;DR: Kourtney shouldn’t be bashed for being pregnant in her mid 40s. It’s totally okay especially in her situation!

I wish her and her baby well. I had my last at 41. But it's really dangerous, it's really hard on your body and aging eggs sometimes don't create perfect babies. It turned out okay in my case, but everyone should be aware of the risks. My surprise is graduating from college in December.

please don’t encourage women to wait for marriage and kids after they put their careers first. And don’t believe celebrities with lots of money who suddenly “naturally”have kids in their 40’s. It’s not possibly for the majority of women and just makes them really sad when they plan to have kids later because they believe this lie that we can have it all! No we can’t, you have to choose a path. It’s biology.

I hope you are not putting off having children until then based on that hope, because you almost certainly will not be able to without expensive and painful fertility interventions. Your mother's example is a fleetingly rare case.
