Galacik is a village in the administrative territorial unit of Ismayilli district of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Galacik is located at the foot of a mountain 30 km northwest of Ismayilli district. The population is engaged in agriculture, grain growing, tobacco growing, fruit growing and animal husbandry. There is a secondary school, a library, and a hospital in the village. There are ruins of the Gasimkhan castle from the 9th-14th centuries on the river bank near Galacik. The village is located in the tourist zone of the same name. To see the remains of the "Gasimkhan" fortress, 5 km of the 8 km distance from the village to the fortress can be traveled by car, and 3 km on foot or on horseback. The village is supplied with electricity. There is a year-round canteen in the village. Ismayilli-Galacik-Gabala tourist route passes through the village. The village can be reached by car year-round.[2]

The village is distinguished by certain historical monuments. One of them is the ruins of the "Gasim Khan" fortress, which is called the "Sanger Castle" among the local population, and is believed to belong to the 9th-14th centuries on the banks of the Sangar River near Galacik. It is not known who built the castle. It is only known that the castle had the character of a defensive fortification. At the end of the 18th century, during the enmity between Shamakhi Khan Mustafa Khan and his uncle Gasim Khan, Gasim Khan came to the ruins of Sangar Castle by mountain roads and restored it. The cemetery located in the upper part of the village and popularly called "Pirdavud" is protected by the state. Those who sleep here are Haputs belonging to the Lezgi language group. [3]

14 graves belonging to the Haput people were identified in the Pirdavud cemetery. In other words, it has been confirmed that Haput people live in this village. [4]
