Nutrients: What are nutrients and how do living organisms get these nutrients.
Modes of nutrition: There are different ways of getting nutrition, depending on the source of nutrition.
Autotrophic mode of nutrition: In this mode, organisms prepare their own food.
Heterotrophic mode of nutrition: In this mode, organisms depend on other organisms for their energy needs.
Heterotrophic mode of nutrition and its types: Like other organisms such as humans and other animals, plants can also depend on other organisms for their nutrition. It is of different types.
Parasitic mode: Depends on the host for its nutrition. The host gets deprived of important nutrients.
Symbiotic mode: In this mode, both organisms are benefited from each other.
Saprophytic mode: Depends on dead and decaying matter for their nutrition.
Insectivorous plants: Depends on insects mostly for replenishing nitrogen requirements. They are partially heterotrophic in nature.

Leave is called as the food factory of the plants. Leaves is the only part of the plants that have chlorophyll and production of food is possible only in the leaves therefore leaves are called as the food factory of the plants.

Reason:-( As we all know that leaves prepare food by using CO2(Carbondioxide), H2O(Water). In the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll. It produce Starch(Glucose), Oxygen, Water(H2O). We also know that other parts that are green(Contain Chlorophyll) but in most of the plants leaf do this work so we call the leaf as food factory of plant.

☺Homework Answer: Leaves are called the ‘‘food factories of plant”. It is so because the leaves are the only parts which are present in plants contains chlorophyll. Leaves makes food by using the chlorophyll produced by the plant's chloroplast, sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide taken from the environment by the help of plant's stomata which are tiny pores present on the leaves. The plants make food out of these materials or components in the form of Glucose.
