💰 Aftermarket vs. OEM Catalytic Converters: Scrap Price Differences

When selling your scrap catalytic converter, it’s important to know if it's OEM or aftermarket—because aftermarket cats are worth significantly less. In this video, Tom explains how OEM converters have more precious metals, why aftermarket cats have lower value, and why you should never remove the honeycomb material inside.

📸 Key Differences Between OEM & Aftermarket Catalytic Converters:
✔️ OEM converters contain more platinum, palladium, & rhodium, making them more valuable
✔️ Aftermarket converters have less precious metal content and sell for much less
✔️ DO NOT remove the honeycomb—it will result in a much lower per-pound price
