I might be in the minority, and this might just be because some of the animations I've seen have imprinted this imagery in to my mind, but when I hear this song I don't think of a fictional character that I love or even the feeling of falling in love or whatever other things that have been brought up in this comment section. Everytime I hear this song, I have this image of a king who loves his kingdom. A king who has seen his fair share of war and conflict. But as time goes, his kingdom, that he loves, begins to crumble from within. Internal conflict and civil war breaks out and the king is left to witness the corruption of his beloved kingdom. Everytime the violin part plays, images of blades clashing, blood, tears and declarations flash before me. The "Fairytale" is the dream for a utopia the King wants.
