Remember trying to learn this intro like Paul plays it and I physically couldn't do it. Just impossible for my hands to the point it caused pain so just held hands up and was like naw. Only other lick I had like that was a diminished Loomis lick from 'The Obsidian Conspiracy'. Mad bastards.

Funny, it was originally HIS WARM UP exercise, yup, the start is what he used to warm up, he added to it. it was never hard for him. he warmed up on it LOL

There's an old Guitar World interview where Richie Kotzen talks about that intro being brutal to play. I'm sure for him (and everybody else) it's mostly the stretches rather than the speed, though.
