my mother is a teacher and seeing the way some kids treat her makes my blood boil. she stays up insanely late working, she wakes up at 4am, she goes out of her way and uses her own money to make sure her students have what they need. she got a students glasses when they needed them and all they see is when she’s scolding them for actually misbehaving.

My school hired an older teacher who was to teach math to us in gr10. She had a phd in chemistry and should’ve been teaching university level courses not our math.

We made her cry and I still feel bad about it

I had a history teacher who wrote something on the board and it stayed there until the next year. It said, "Excuses are the words of the incompetent, they build monuments of nothingness and people who use them are seldom good for anything else." Truer words were never spoken. Every time I hear an excuse I think of her words. I'm not sure where she got the quote or if she made it up herself. I've Googled it but never found it.
