I wish Brazil was once a French colony, instead of Portugal, until about the 1800s as say the Napoleon Wars end up with France losing it to Brazil getting independence.

Don't forget, the EU spans every continent. Spain has enclaves in N.Africa, France has guiana in S.America, France has Saint Pierre and Miquelon in N.America, Cyprus is in Asia, New Caledonia in Oceania and territory in Antarctica.
