What is the Gap Theory and why is it unacceptable as an interpretation of the Biblical Creation Account?

The problem with Young Earth interpretations is they are all based on the English translation and not the original Hebrew hence they assume Day means 24 hours whereas the Hebrew word translated to Day is Yom which can mean day or it can mean any period of time. The fact that God could have made the earth in six literal days doesn't mean he did eg Adam was charged with the task of naming many thousands of animals on the same day as God made Adam and Eve. Not likely this was 24 hours.
Death entering the world because of sin doesn't mean it didn't exist previously and the world means mankind not the earth otherwise it wold have said entered the earth .
Ignorance is not the same as faith. Faith is believing God's word not someone's translation< with it's bias misrepresentations.
