I far prefer single/natural light shooting for portraits and my reasoning [for good or bad] is that is that to my mind, multi-light set ups look more like advertising images than they do portraits.
That's a large part of the strength of Platon's work.

We have no less than a dozen of these cheap little shoot throughs we got when buying kits and they were free with purchase. We can't cive them away fast enough and just when we think we are down to our last couple, more magically appear.

Great shots, thanks for showing how you did it! If I may ask, did you use TTL metering or did you edit out the metering after you moved the umbrella (or did you leave the light as it was and I am just not noticing how the light changed)?
