Thanks for this. It explains a thing that some find intuitive but others may not understand. 👍👍

The last method you mentioned by using the nail of the thumb I find is the best because it doesn’t cause any thumb tip sensitivity after flicking it all day long. It also prevents excessive wearing of the paint on the thumb studs and it opens every time without any issues. I wish more people were aware of that way to open the knife. Good video. 👍👍

I have several Benchmade knives. I never use a thumb stud. I use the axis lock flick to open and close. Benchmade knives are the easiest one hand open and close I have ever used.

I used the Benchmade knife oil on my bugout. It made it even easier to open. Highly recommended

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Now I know how to open my new Bugout. I prefer the axis lock method.

wow thanks alot for that last method, since i suck at flicking it open, i used to always flick it halfway but now im able to consistently open it fully (it also removes the sensitivity that it gave me by flicking it all day haha)

I appreciate the video. I thought it was just me, but I guess it's my knife. It doesn't open easily at all.

Good video brother I realize your video is mainly for non-knife people so I don’t know why some people have to be smart-ass about it in the comments!

i use the thumb nail way aswell. you can also use your middle finger nail to flick it open from the back side thumb stud just as well.

I still have a great deal of difficulty using the thumb stud. So frustrating. *edit* the advice to push the tumb stud straight forward and NOT out really helped...along with some practice it's like butter Thanks

I mainly use the thumb studs...opens more easily in a confined space and (to my mind) puts less wear on the mechanism. I avoid using my nails (as I'm a guitarist). I use the axis lock opening to impress my son (who thinks it's a flick knife).

..another two methods Im using are> with index finger from back instead of using the midle finger or when holding both thumbstuds using thumb and index finger on the same time

with my osbourne, I like to pull the pin with it facing the ground, and rotate my wrist as it drops, which prevent it from bouncing as theres not much force opening it

This is an amazing knife, for $70. For $180? Forget it.
