Area and Perimeter on the Coordinate Plane: Area

Показать описание
This video introduces the concept of finding area when shapes are graphed on the coordinate plane. The video specifically looks at an example problem finding the area of a triangle.
The general strategy for finding the area of a polygon is to determine how much space the object occupies using various formulas. For triangles, find the product of the base and height and divide by two to find the area. Finding the length of a side on the coordinate plane can be accomplished by either using the distance formula of by drawing a right triangle and using the Pythagorean Theorem.
