Oxytocin is a hormone that gives you warm, fuzzy, loved-up feelings. It's made in the brain, gets pumped into the bloodstream and makes us feel connected to those around us. Even when we're sleep-deprived and in a Very Bad Mood.

Oxytocin is what gets labour going, promotes breastfeeding, floods our systems during sex and when we're falling in love. And it's basically magic fairy dust (not the scientific term, I know) for helping parents and babies to bond.

What's the easiest, simplest way to access this all-important O and connect with our little one? Carrying them close in a wrap or carrier. Of course, cuddling does the same job, but at some point you're going to need your hands back.

So get the best of all worlds: carry your baby, keep the oxytocin flowing, and be free to hold hands with other special ones in your life.
