You are a metal detectorist with the most beautiful place to do your hobby and you live in a nation with fantastic atiquities and coins.

Those Tear drop shaped lead pieces you found are Fishing weights, missing the little top loop where your fishing line would attach.

I once found a full sovereign while detecting (1889). I then went over the area for the next hour and a half, but no others. You never forget your first gold find, you are dead right.

Gaz,
i really love your videos which are beautifully made, edited and the music is spot on... and what is amazing is that instead of just pulling the gold coins out, you take time to savour the moment... and have the prescence of mind to record the event... I found a gold ring last year but i didnt know it was a gold ring until it came out of the clod, it was a 14 on the Nox which is always a ring pull but on this occasion it wasnt.. I just fell back and stared then started laughing....and the bronze age axe head that i found was a 30+ on the Nox which is usually a BOAT (bit off a tractor) but i had only been detecting for about a month and i was digging everything... I think maybe now i`m a bit too choosy with what i decide needs to be dug... I also like how you marvel at the imprint from the coin, its so exciting seeing the imprint before the coin. I think what is also exciting is when i check the hole and get another signal..!! Always check your hole...Like you i`ve dug ringpulls, cans, lead, scrap iron, mobile phones, lighters, vapes, buttons, toy guns and cars, badges, copper pipe, bullets, all modern coins and victorian silver but the excitement is still there.. i also love being out on my own but occasionally with a detector colleague. I`ve just read the book " Gone Fishing" where Paul Whithouse and Bob Mortimer both agree that you dont have to have caught anything to have had a great day out, its the day out itself that makes it worthwhile, finding anything is a bonus.. Keep posting, theres gold in them there hills...:)

Amazing place buddy. The lead teardrop find with the iron loop at the top could be an old fishing weight. Someone was probably practicing their casting back in the day, or maybe some sort of loom weight. Nice you ended with a half silver. Thanks for taking us along as usual, with the old memories thrown in, and what great memories they are, enjoyed. Great permission. All the best bud, HH and keep those finds coming.

Awesome video as always tinner. Great to see you and your dad back out for another year of goodies. Some really nice finds as usual. But that Roman duck broach is something really special. Great to see your dads got another important job, wind blocker, the poor chap is so busy, he hasn’t got time to detect himself, with his water duties as well haha. Thanks chaps for sharing.
