I’m getting skylanders again starting from scratch, and had no that you could use the new portals on the older games. Wish I had known that.

It's because it's a series 2 or 3 character. As long as the character already exists in game as an original, you'll be fine

That's weird... although maybe they put it on there because it doesn't register as a light core in spyros adventure... but that still doesn't make sense

The compatibility depends on the portal you use : ssa portal can't read the lightcore but everi portal after it can. If you play ssa with the gigant's portal it will read the Lightcore and you will be able to play them

Maybe the lightcores only have their abilities in the game the lightcore was from and after, and if that's true then they might have meant that.

I just tried it with my swap force terrafin and it worked in spyros adventure🤯 nearly 13 years I been playing this and never knew this

Well you were using a newer portal that could read them. Maybe they were talking about compatability with the original Spyro's Adventure portal?
